Welcome to the Film Exhibition and Distribution Code website

The Code provides the basis for fair and equitable business arrangements between those engaged in the marketing and showing of cinema films in Australia.

The Code applies to those who become signatories.  There is no fee to become a signatory.

The Code sets out the parameters of businss conduct by its signatories.  It provides a framework which recognises the unique aspects and challenges in the marketing and exhibiting of films.  It also provides procedures to resolve disputes which arise among Code signatories under the supervision of a Code Conciliator.

The website sets out the provisions of the Code, information about the make up of the Committee which administers it and how to use the Code to help resolve disputes.

It is a voluntary arrangement, self-supporting and independent of Government.
